She interviewed Loren Bontrager, Director of Real Estate, to hear what TMAD has done to create an intriguing environment for their raving fans. Bontrager has been part of the team since 2014. He started first as a consultant before moving in-house to lead the real estate department. Bontrager provides support to new franchisees looking for an ideal space to open their own teriyaki shop.

“We are serving up big bowls of awesomeness — real food, bringing the teriyaki Asian fusion concept from Seattle to the nation.” – Loren Bontrager, Director of Real Estate

He shared with Parks, Teriyaki Madness’ effort to put the soul back in franchising. The brand encourages owners to add their own flair to their teriyaki shops. Because of this, TMAD lets franchise owners customize certain aspects of their shop to fit their personality and the neighborhood community.

Michael Haith, acquired the chain in February after helping grow it from eight units to 26 in two years.
