Denver Business Journal’s 2017 Small Business Awards

The Denver Business Journal awarded its 2017 Small Business Awards honors at a luncheon today at the Grand Hyatt Denver hotel.

The DBJ ranked the winners based on the percentage growth for fiscal years 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Each company had to report a full 12 months of operations in the base year of 2013, and could only have 75 or fewer employees as of the data collection date of March 1, 2016.

As these companies all are experiencing tremendous growth, many of them have added employees since our survey. But we still used the employee count as of the survey date to correlate with the revenue data as of that date as well.

Teriyaki Madness is Number 2 in the small company category. Michael Haith is the CEO of Teriyaki Madness and hopes to have 500 locations in the next five years.

Teriyaki Madness is a fast-casual restaurant concept serving up quality, fresh, healthy and flavorful Asian food in a hip atmosphere. Teriyaki describes the flavor and cooking style while Madness refers to the state of mind our customers enter because they just can’t get enough!

Euromonitor International declared Asian food the Global Hot Trend and the fastest growing food segment showing nearly 500% growth since 1999, as much as the next four food categories combined! Our food is made fresh to each order, totally customizable and ready in 7-12 minutes. Customers can get the traditional teriyaki bowl with rice, veggies and a protein or can customize their order to be healthier by opting for veggies, no rice, plus a protein. TMAD’s food hits on the biggest current trends by providing Asian food with healthy options.
